A Much Needed Night of Magic {sponsored}

There has been a lot going on around our house lately.  Lauren started a new school, Ben is going to more preschool, Daddy is working lots, Mommy is working LOTS and, OH YEAH! Minor thing, Grandma just moved in with us. Saying that things are harried right now, is a bit of an understatement.  So, when the opportunity to put all that crazy behind us for a couple hours of magic presented itself, we couldn’t say no.  Last night, despite Daddy working later than he thought he’d have to, and there being a million crazy things going on at the house and in the office the four of us landed in seats at Sleep Train Arena to get a sprinkle of pixie dust magic at Disney On Ice.

We needed a night of fun.  A night where there wasn’t homework to do or emails to return or dishes to be washed.  We needed a night where the four of us were together.  We needed a night full of laughter and singing and magic.  No one delivers that better than Disney.  And this show gave us all those things and more.  Watching the kids react to seeing many of their favorite characters was just the treat Daddy and I needed.Sarah Maren Photographers Sarah Maren Photographers Sarah Maren Photographers Sarah Maren Photographers Sarah Maren Photographers

EVERYONE was mesmerized by the show.  I will admit, the fairies of Pixie Hollow were my favorite part of the show.  It warmed my heart, made me reminisce about the Tinkerbell Half Marathon Jill and I ran last year, and I sang EVERY WORD to Fly to Your HeartLOUDLY.  But the VERY best part was when Ben told me how much he LOVED Queen Calrion’s voice.  Seriously, that kid!Sarah Maren Photographers Sarah Maren Photographers

When the Toy Story crew came out in the second act my heart did this little flutter thing.  We saw Toy Story 3 in the theater a couple days before Ben was born.  I sobbed, hysterically of course, during the movie.  Now, four and a half years later the kid in my belly was on my lap LOSING HIS MIND over characters he loves.  He held his Woody and Bullseye dolls up when they skated out and whooped and hollered with unabashed glee.  Those giggles, the hollers, the happiness – in the midst of ALL the crazy that is happening right now those things and all the magic they bring are JUST what me and my little (though very harried) family needed.
