Well, here we are in the middle of March 2016 and all I can say is HOW IN THE HELL ARE WE IN MARCH ALREADY?  But I digress.  Being in March means we’ve finished up our first selection in the Cap City Moms Book ClubYear of Yes by Shonda Rhimes.  We gathered the book club troops together last week to eat some tasty treats, drink some yummy wine and chat about this book at we LOVED.  As fate would have it – I recorded the whole thing and then edited it down to an under 3 minute video. FOR YOU!  I DID THIS FOR YOU!  Also, I did this because there was a fair portion of the stuff we said that was WILDLY inappropriate – even for the internet. Also, we got together and gabbed for a couple hours so you didn’t have to. But we would REALLY love to hear what you thought of the book!  Because this is why we book club!  To talk about the book!

I have to say, I really, really loved this book.  I actually read it at the end of last year and thought it would be a perfect way to start off our 2016 book club and it totally was.  I really love the positiveness of this book.  I was also genuinely moved by Shonda’s initial willingness to change herself in a way that NEEDED to be changed. Even though it was really scary and really hard, she listened to something someone she loves said and she checked herself.  She was willing to admit she was falling short on something and then she worked on changing it.  And that change snowballed into something pretty damn amazing.  It was a joy to read this story of change – and how one simple act can be a catalyst for greatness.

I wish this video was a catalyst for greatness but, girl, it is NOT.  It is shaky AF!  Love me anyway, okay?  And then tell me what you loved about this book in the comments!  Then get reading our next selection – Kitchens of the Great Midwest!
