Welcome to another installment of Bullet Journal 101! Today I’m sharing how I use weekly spreads to manage my life and how I do bullet journal meal planning. Let’s start with my weekly spread. I LOVE having a whole week laid out at a glance so I can see just what those seven days hold. It’s a great way to check out what’s happening when, and helps me manage my time SO much better. I also do some self care tracking as well as keeping tabs on my production and editing schedules. I love having a go to place in my Bullet Journal to keep me on top of things for the week. Some have asked why I do a weekly spread when I also do daily spreads. The answer to that is – detail. My daily spreads are MUCH more detailed than my weekly spreads. I write down almost every little thing I need to do in order to complete a project or task. This helps me visualize how much time something will take, and feels SO rewarding when I tick off the boxes as I make my way to the end of my tasks. For people who don’t have as much going on as I do, a weekly spread might be enough to get them through!
As Jill told you, we started a Whole30 in January, so meal planning is at a whole new level for me. I’m not just planning dinners – it’s EVERYTHING! Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks! It’s a lot to do, so this spread really helps me keep everything in order. It also helps me not get overwhelmed. That is a really big deal to me. When I’m using a recipe from a book, I make sure to write down the book and page number it’s on as well. That way I’m not confused about which cookbook I got the idea from. I didn’t always do this intense of a meal plan. Before the Whole30 I just figured out what we were going to have for dinner. I will say, planning breakfasts and lunches has made it MUCH easier for me to keep on track though. I don’t have to think about what I’m going to cook for myself when I’m just getting going – it’s already in the plan so I know what to do! Here’s what my current weekly meal plan looks like –
