All along, we knew we wanted to get to know the amazing Cap City Moms. Little by little, mom by mom, we can’t wait to know more about the moms that are a part of this community. We want to know what the best part of being a mom is? What are shining mom moments? Or…you know, the dull ones. (I mean COME ON, you know there are those.)
To kick things off, we wanted to introduce you to your Cap City Moms writers and editing team. I was told that I had to be first. And for that I am sorry. (But I can’t wait to read more about all of you SO I’M DOING IT FOR THE GOOD OF THE TEAM.)
Here we go…Cap City Moms Jill.
A stay at/work from home mom?
Work away from home mom?
How long have you been a mom?
16 years. (Crazy.)
How many kids do you have and what are their ages?
I have two daughters 16 and 11. (I call them Beezus and Ramona in the blogging world because they are SO Beezus and Ramona.)
What is the best part of being a mom?
My kids are my partners in crime. They’ve grown up to be some of my very favorite humans and we have a blast together. We love music, we love movies. I love cheering them on at their games or band performances. They’re just kinda the best.
What is the hardest thing about being a mom?
No one likes to be the hard-ass. Sometimes we earn our titles as Meanest Parents Ever…or Strictest Parent Ever. (I have no trophy as of yet, but I’ll look into it.)
On the flip side, I’ve reached the point in motherhood where we’re looking at colleges for my oldest and the reality that I have to send her off to someplace that isn’t my home. It’s…difficult. But I’m ridiculously proud of her.
Have you missed a moment in your child’s/children’s life that you regret?
More than I’d care to admit. I’ve never been a stay-at-home Jill
I love when we blast music and sing at the top of our lungs in the car on our way home or to a game. I love when we can be silly and laugh. But I’m most proud of how great these kids are. They are gosh-darn amazing.
Make a mess in the kitchen baking cookies with the kids?
Make a mess in the living room building forts or playing Lego’s?
What is your absolute FAVORITE movie? (Or, what’s you favorite book?)
Why is this the hardest question for me to answer? (And my own fault, if we’re being honest.) I think my answer for both would have to be the Anne of Green Gables books and movies. Mostly because it’s been the answer since I was 12.
Now, what is your absolute favorite KID movie?
Despicable Me. And…pretty much every Disney/Pixar movie ever.
Thank you for playing along! More Cap City Moms each week…stay tuned!!
