Surviving Summer: What’s Going On Around Town

I very nearly wrote a post today about the most ridiculous first birthday party I’ve ever heard of, but then I remembered I don’t care. Also, it’s not the baby’s fault her birthday party was so over the top. (If you never had a ferris wheel at your kid’s birthday party, you are doing it wrong.)

(Yeah, me too.)

Luckily for the rest of us, there are some pretty rad things to do around town. Okay, sure it won’t be your own personal Coachella, but we are just going to have to be okay with that you guys!

Farmer for a Day

This weekend, you and your entire family can be a farmer for a day where you plant seeds for a pumpkin that you will go back and pick up in the fall! (I find this adorable, by the way. So awesome.)

Veterinarian in Training?

Does someone in your family want to be a veterinarian? Pets to Go has the coolest Kids Club each month and on July 12th, the kids get to learn about what it’s like to be a veterinarian. We know they’ll have a blast!

Plates Café BBQ

Have you ever been to Plates Café? It’s so good! This Friday, they are celebrating The 4th of July (early) with a fabulous BBQ menu. The wonderful staff at Plates are part of the employment training program of Saint John’s Program for Real Change. You guys, the food is amazing. And the people that you meet? They change your world.

Have a great week, everyone!
