Holy goodness, it’s been a busy week!
ICYMI: What’s Happenin’ This Week on CCM:
We’ve started meeting our Cap City Moms, it’s raining but we still need to conserve, we’re giving away things AND we’re wearing red for our hearts. We also had our very first Cap City Moms Night Out last night. I mean, how rad is that? We had a blast! A huge thank you to all that attended!
Around the Web:
It was a sad week in Hollywood as a talented actor died of a drug overdose. It’s hard to make sense of such a tragedy and for many, it’s hard to understand. Addiction is hard to understand. Unless you know exactly what it’s like. I’ve never found myself to be a fan of Russell Brand, but after reading his experience with addiction, I may have changed my mind. (Does have swears, FYI.)
We’ve heard of Tiger Mom. But author Amy Chua creates a little more controversy over her new book that claims that some ethnic and religious groups are far more likely to succeed. Jews, Indians, Chinese, Iranians, Lebanese-Americans, Nigerians, Cuban exiles and Mormons are highlighted in her book as said to have the three qualities that set them apart to succeed. Critics have said that the book is about racial superiority. Chua and her husband say, that wasn’t their intent at all. (We may have to keep talking about this.)
Now, to start your weekend off right, you really have to take a peek at what absolutely made my week. (Thank you, Sarah.) 10 pictures that prove Bruno Mars is Powerline from the Goofy Movie? Well, I’m just saying you can’t tell me he’s NOT. It’s kinda my favorite.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
